Cap’n Kamele is getting nostalgic about his old days in the fleet and DJing couple live sets at Fables By Barrie grand opening celebration. This may turn out to be another appearance full of debauchery and matching outfits.
Kamele definitely plans on recreating the mix from the live set and distributing it out among the internet. Stay tuned for that.
It is my first time back in the saddle this year. I got a new rig to try out live Saturday. I am not spinning vinyl for this one (don’t have enough oldie records). I got a new Korg and Novation midi controller and am going to do live beat improvisation and then throw down some sweet remix tracks of Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, and other classics. Check.. check it out.
It starts at 9pm at The Ruby Room.
My friend Lady Borgia and the lovely Vamp Tomato are performing as well.
Due to my insanely eclectic schedule and my lack of an automobile I ended up arriving to the RIMAC arena just at the end of Manchester Orchestra’s set. Manchester was two of the five bands that performed. Preceded by White Rabbits (which I was disappointed I missed) then followed by Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, and Spoon.
Phoenix Performing their song “Lasso” off of their album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
Finishing up their set they played their hit single “1901” and the crowd went wild as did Thomas Mars, lead singer of Phoenix. He stopped the song towards the end and asked the venue to kill the house lights. He then disappeared and eventually resurfaced in the middle of the audience with microphone and cord in tow and finished an encore of their very energetic song. Then he crowd surfed back to the stage. Check the video: “Phoenix crowd surfs”
Up next was Vampire Weekend who at first had some technical difficulties. They played some of their already classic songs from their self titled album including One (Blake’s Got A New Face) / Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa / I Stand Corrected. In between they played some of their new songs from the upcoming album “Contra” which their first single has a very fun and energetic video.

The Reverend Mace at the Church of Space Mountain
I may or may of not been under the influence when I conducted my bi-monthly sermon on Space Mountain.

Wearing a suit increases your accuracy exponentially.
Although I had some deadly accuracy on Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blaster after learning some of the secret targets. Poor Sam Farrady did not stand a chance against my onslaught.
It seems at Disney all the kids seem to act like adults and all the adults want to ask like kids. Luckily they make beverages and such that help us achieve that lovely childhood wonder.
But the main event was this:
Caution if you are prone to epilepsy or excessive frenetic dancing use caution while watching.
Ghostland tore it up, rocked the house, and lasered the shit out of the HOB.
Unlike the last time I saw them they played my favorite song the simple yet brilliant Silver City and an extended version at that:
